Benefit Health System Launches Men In Pink Campaign

Cedar Rapids, IA - Benefit Health System, the leading provider of healthcare services in Cedar Rapids, IA, recently announced the launch of their Men in Pink campaign. This campaign challenges men in Eastern Iowa to dress in silly pink outfits and participate in an annual 5k run/walk in support of local breast cancer education, screening and research.

"Everybody knows someone who has been impacted by breast cancer," said Keri Hansen, Benefit Health’s director of marketing. "Our goal for this campaign is to generate awareness for breast cancer education. If we can get women in Linn county to come in for a screening who maybe wouldn’t have before, I’ll consider the campaign a success."

According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point during their lifetime. It is the second most common cancer among women following skin cancer.

The Men In Pink 5k run/walk will take place Sunday, October 28th at Bever Park. Registration closes on Saturday, March 27th at 3:00 p.m.
