About Eastern Iowa Regional Bariatric Center
Eastern Iowa Regional Bariatric Center (EIRBC) is Eastern Iowa's premier weight loss management facility and the only Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, as recognized by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
We're proud to offer patients a continuum of care for permanent and successful weight management. Our expert and compassionate care team—from Registered Dieticians to Bariatric Surgeons—are focused on meeting your individual weight loss needs from introductory classes to post-surgical consultations.
Our Weight Loss Services
We offer the following comprehensive weight loss and weight management services from registered and licensed professionals:
- Lifestyle and behavior assessment
- Diet and nutrition counseling
- Weight management education
- Metabolic testing
- Individualized exercise programs
- Non-surgical, medical weight loss programs including OPTIFAST®
- Bariatric surgery, including gastric bypass and Lapband®, when diet and exercise isn't enough

Prepare for Your Appointment
Before your appointment, please check with you insurance provider to see if you are covered for services at the Eastern Iowa Regional Bariatric Center.
Please bring the following with you to your appointment:
- Photo identification, such as a driver's license or state photo ID
- Insurance card, including the insurer's name and address, and the patient's policy number
- Health Plan Referral Authorization (if required by your health insurance carrier)
- Name, address, and phone number of your referring physician (if you were referred here)
- All current medications or a list of current medications including how much of each you take, and how often you take it
- A list of your questions you'd like answered by your care team
- Payment for services including payment of any deductible and/or co-insurance identified by your insurance plan
