Preparing for Your Appointment or Stay
Before your appointment or hospital stay, please check with you insurance provider to see if you are covered for services at the Benefit Hospital West.
Please bring the following with you:
- Photo identification, such as a driver's license or state photo ID
- Insurance card, including the insurer's name and address, and the patient's policy number
- Health Plan Referral Authorization (if required by your health insurance carrier)
- Name, address, and phone number of your referring physician (if you were referred here)
- All current medications or a list of current medications including how much of each you take, and how often you take it
- A list of your questions you'd like answered by your care team
- Payment for services including payment of any deductible and/or co-insurance identified by your insurance plan
Visiting Hours & Policies
Visitor Guidelines & Policies
Visitors must comply with our visitor guidelines and policies to assure patient and visitor safety. We thank you for complying.
General Visiting Hours & Rules
- General visiting hours are 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Our medical staff may determine at any time that children cannot visit, depending on the patient’s situation.
- Visitors must be free from contagious illness.
- No more than four visitors per patient are allowed at once.
- All visitors must sanitize their hands before entering a patient's room.
Exceptions to Benefit Health’s Visiting Restrictions
- Maternity Services: Spouses or other designated special guests have open visiting hours. Visiting hours for grandparents, siblings of the newborn(s) and all other visitors are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. Other visitors must be 12 years of age or older and are encouraged to visit between 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
- Pediatrics: Parents have open visiting hours.
- ICCU: Family members have open visiting hours.
- Extended Care Facility (ECF): Open visiting hours.
- Benefit Nursing Center: Open visiting hours.
Smoke-Free Campus
All Benefit Health System hospitals and practice locations have smoke-free campuses. Cigarettes and smoking materials are not sold at Benefit Hospital East, Benefit Hospital West or any Benefit Health System locations. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. We appreciate your cooperation.

Benefit Hospital West provides a wealth of amenities to ensure a positive experience for patients and visitors to our facilities. We offer:

Gift Shop
The Benefit Hospital West gift shop is located across from the cafeteria on first floor of the hospital.
The gift shop, operated by the Benefit Health System Auxiliary, sells gifts, flowers, cards, candies, magazines, newspapers and toiletries. Proceeds go toward educational programs, renovations like those for the Benefit Birth Center, medical equipment and other programs to support positive patient experiences.
Gift Shop Hours
- Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon to 4 p.m.
