Visiting Hours and Guidelines

General Visiting Hours

11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily

Open Visiting Hours

  • Pediatrics – Parents or guardian
  • Intensive Care – Family members or designated representative
  • Extended Care Facility (ECF)
  • Benefit Nursing Center

Maternity Visiting Hours

Open hours – Spouse or other designated special guest
10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily – Grandparents, siblings of newborns, other visitors age 12 or older

Guidelines

For your health and safety as a visitor, and for the well-being of our patients and staff, we ask you to follow our guidelines when you or your family members come to the hospital.

  • Children under age 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Depending on a patient’s situation, our medical staff may determine whether children may visit.
  • You must be in good health and free of contagious illness.
  • Each patient may have up to four visitors at one time.
  • Before entering a patient’s room, be sure to use the hand sanitizer provided near the door.

Preparing for Your Appointment or Stay

Before you arrive at the hospital, check with your insurance carrier to find out if you have coverage for services or procedures at Benefit Hospital East.

What to Bring

  • Photo identification, such as a driver’s license or state-issued photo identification document
  • All active insurance cards with the insurer’s name and address and the patient’s policy number
  • Health Plan Referral Authorization form, if required by your health insurance carrier
  • Referring physician name, address, and phone number, if you were referred to Benefit East
  • All current medications or a list of current medications, including amounts of each you take and how often you take it
  • Your questions for our care team members
  • Payment for deductibles or co-insurance amounts identified by your insurance plan, or payment for services not covered by insurance

Located across from the cafeteria on the first floor and operated by the Benefit Health System Auxiliary, the Benefit Health Gift Shop offers cards, flowers, magazines, toiletries, balloons, gifts, snacks, beverages, and more. When you make a purchase, you help support our educational offerings, facility improvements, medical equipment investments, and a variety of programs that support positive patient experiences.
