What to Bring

Going into labor is often a frantic and stressful time for everyone. With emotions running high it is easy to forget items. We suggest packing an emergency labor bag for Mom, Dad, and the baby well in advance of your due date. Keep in mind that these items should be kept where they are easily reached, preferably in the car. So what should you bring?

For Mom:

  • Her Benefit Health Pregnancy Binder
  • Toiletries
  • Slippers
  • Robe
  • Change of clothes to go home in
  • Books, DVDs, CDs, and other entertainment
  • If you prefer, pillow and blankets from home
  • Makeup
  • Chapstick for labor
  • Hair ties and/or clips
  • Cell phones, including charger and important phone numbers

For Dad:

  • Fully-charged camera
  • Extra batteries and tapes
  • Special snacks (refrigeration is available on site)
  • Phone numbers to your favorite delivery or take-out food, if you would like to order-in
  • Cash for parking and the cafeteria
  • Slippers, comfy clothes and toiletries
  • Computer and cords to upload photos

For Baby:

  • Clothing for first photos and car ride home
  • Receiving blankets (at least two)
  • Car seat (required)
  • Pacifiers (if you want your baby to have one, they will not be provided)
  • Diapers
  • Hat and warm blanket if you are delivering in the winter
  • Lots of love
