Whether you’re just starting or growing your family, our experienced obstetricians, nurses and midwives guide you smoothly through your pregnancy, labor and delivery.
Maternity Care
Maternity services at Benefit Health System include:
- Childbirth education programs, such as childbirth, parenting, breastfeeding, CPR and baby safety classes, to prepare you and your family for your baby. We also offer classes to help siblings adjust to your new arrival.
- Certified lactation consultants to assist you with breastfeeding and provide guidance even after you’re home with your new baby .
- Information about various birthing options.
- Access to registered nurses and certified nurse-midwives who can help answer any of your maternity questions.
During labor and following delivery, you can expect:
- A relaxed and warm atmosphere.
- Private birthing suites designed for you and your baby. In addition to a whirlpool tub and private bathroom, you’ll also appreciate wireless access, TV and DVD player and an in-suite refrigerator.
- Labor support techniques, such as heat and warm water therapy, pain management therapies, massage and breathing techniques.
- Pain management services, including 24/7 access to anesthesiologists.
- Midwife and doula services.
- Personal education on breastfeeding, bathing your infant and other guides to caring for your baby.
- Level III newborn intensive care center that’s among the best in the nation for providing care for low-birth-weight babies and critically ill newborns.
- Postpartum consultations.
Birth Planning Appointments
To prepare for your stay at Benefit Health System, we encourage you to schedule a birth planning appointment with one of our registered nurses. During the appointment, you can:
- Tour our birthing suites
- Discuss various birthing options and develop your birthing plan
- Register for your stay
